First of all, it is good to know that my work is archived on the island of Ireland. This thought anchors me. The National Collection of Northern Ireland Publications stores hard copies of my poetry books and acquired Angel Fur as well, although it was published in Scotland. I live in Northern Ireland, and it is good to be included in this archive, which has its home in the Linenehall Library in Belfast. While still, on an Odyssey expanded in time and space, at least I can say that my work has found a home.
In the summer I travelled to Dublin to record poetry for the Irish Poetry Archive of the James Joyce Library at the University College of Dublin. It was a wonderful morning spent amongst James Joyce's memorabilia, allowing me a glimpse at the first publication of Ulysses. https://libguides.ucd.ie/ipra Dublin is a UNESCO city of literature and a world heritage site as such in the English language, another home from home.
Next on, it's off to Bray again, to read at the last Bray Literary Festival. It is sad that there will be no more, but after five years, perhaps it is understandable that the founders Tanya Farrelly and David Butler want to move on.
Here you see the programme and my reading with Nithy Kasa and Jesús Castro Yáñez on 1st October from 11 am. Looking forward to it!
